For producers: Finding a MAP Agent
A WorldofGood.com MAP Agent can help with shipping logistics, marketing expertise, language proficiency, challenges due to limited Internet connectivity, payments, returns, and more. Some sell goods on consignment for a fee. Others buy goods outright.
Here are the steps to take when you’re looking for a MAP Agent:
- Review the Marketplace Access Program Guidelines for Producers to learn more about the kinds of business arrangements you can make with a MAP Agent, important questions to ask during your interviewing and decision process, detailed Marketplace Access Program policies, and additional information.
- Search the Marketplace Access Program Directory to find MAP Agents registered with WorldofGood.com whose goals, business practices, and ideals seem to fit with your own and who offer the services you need. New MAP Agents are added periodically to this directory so check back later if you don’t find the right one.
- Be sure to make a written, signed agreement with your MAP Agent that covers your responsibilities and obligations to each other, such as how each of you will be paid. You should apply the same standards in selecting a MAP Agent as you would in hiring anyone to perform a service for you. Use good judgment and common sense in making your choice. Make sure to include in your agreement that you can revoke the MAP Agent designation at any time.
- Notify WorldofGood.com that you have authorized a MAP Agent for your goods. For faster service, send this message from the email address that your Trust Provider uses for you. If this isn’t possible, we’ll use your phone number to authenticate the request. Include the following information in the email:
- The subject heading “Add a MAP Agent”
- Your first name, last name, and eBay user ID (if any)
- The name and telephone number of the Trust Provider
- The first name, last name, eBay user ID, and email address of the MAP Agent

Other important MAP Agent information for producers
- You’re free to choose any MAP Agent to help you sell
- You and the MAP Agent can define the terms of that relationship in whatever way works best for you, as long as it meets the laws and regulations of all countries involved and of WorldofGood.com and eBay.
- If you’re already working with someone who might qualify as a MAP Agent have them review the Becoming a MAP Agent section below.
- You can elect to work with more than one MAP Agent. For example, one MAP Agent might help you with shipping and payments, while another handles warehousing of your products.
Becoming a MAP Agent
The Marketplace Access Program is made up of experienced eBay sellers who help qualified WorldofGood.com producers manage their listings and sales on WorldofGood.com. Sellers who want to become MAP Agents must apply and be accepted by WorldofGood.com. If you are accepted into the program you will be listed in the Marketplace Access Program Directory, where producers who need selling assistance can find you. Before you apply, review the Marketplace Access Program Guidelines for Agents.
Basic requirements
- Registered to sell on eBay
- eBay account in good standing
- eBay Feedback Score of 25 or higher with at least 98% positive.
Note: These requirements do not apply to Product-level MAP Agents (see below).
Apply to become a MAP Agent
Product-level MAP Agents
If you’re an authorized reseller of products that are verified or monitored by a Trust Provider - for example, Fair Trade coffee or chocolate - and you’d like to sell these products on WorldofGood.com, ask the company you buy from to designate you as a Product-level MAP Agent. You won’t need to meet the Producer-level MAP Agent requirements. However, you will need to meet the basic selling requirements for WorldofGood.com.
The authorizing company should send WorldofGood.com an email with the following information:
- The subject heading “Product-level MAP Agent”
- Your first name, last name, and eBay user ID (if any)
- The name and telephone number of the company representative you work with
- A list of the products you are authorized to sell on WorldofGood.com, along with the name of the Trust Provider that verifies or certifies each product
