These fab, funky earrings are made by Trillium Artisans member Jamie Daniels of Spystress.
The earrings are made from pieces of colored vintage vinyl LP records that are given a new life as fashionable jewelry. The pieces are hand cut, drilled, and filed to create simple shapes that look contemporary with a retro flair.
The earring hooks are sterling silver with a rubber backing. Each earring is durable and unique. The circular shapes, which are made from a hot pink record showing a bit of the orginal graphic text on the aqua-colored record label, are about 1.5" (3.81 cm) in diameter.
Records are what Jamie found in place of pricey sheet metal that was loud and harder to cut. Recycled vinyl adds character, uniqueness and simplicity. These record earrings are made to show how reusable material can be elegant enough to wear. People throw records away all the time because they are obsolete but Jamie thinks they have another use...
