YWCA Craft Centre, part of the wider YWCA (Young Women's Christian Association) program, teaches women to sew and earn a living from making jute and cotton products. YWCA Centre provides training and job opportunities to poor and unskilled women and young girls of all faiths, some of them disabled. Many of these women then move on to other jobs or start their own businesses. YWCA artisan benefits include a compulsory 10 percent savings program, interest-free loans and health and legal support.
