More than 150 women are employed at the Fatima Self-Help Centre, an income-generating project established by the Good Shepherd Sisters in Bangkok in 1979. The Centre is in one of the poorer slum areas of the city, where dignified work is difficult to find. Through the work of the Fatima Centre, many women have been able to improve their situations, gaining access to educational opportunities, and providing for their families.
