Pneu Flower Pins are made from recycled bicycle inner tubes by Trillium Artisans member Taylor Stevenson of Red Semilla Roja.
Pneu means inner tube in Spanish. Taylor started making the flowers with street kids in Portland, then gave them away to friends as good luck charms for their bikes. People liked them so much that she started making pins!
Approximately 3" - 3.5" in diameter (7.62 - 8.89 cm).

Trillium Artisans is a nonprofit community economic development organization that supports low-income artisans in the city of Portland, Oregon, USA, who create handmade items using a minimum of 50% recycled or reclaimed materials.
Taylor Stevenson's artwork explores different ways that trash can be transformed into function, then used as a symbol to reintegrate parts of society that have been rejected. Typically made exclusively from commonly discarded materials, Taylor's work bears the influence of Oriental design and calligraphy, graffiti, and American tribal art and craft. Taylor sells her work to raise funds for events that she organizes to encourage the proliferation of functional reuse techniques around the world, particularly in underappreciated communities. These events serve to expand her website, www.redsemillaroja.org, a web-based network of socially-minded artists.
