Al-Atrash Workshop is a family enterprise with several artisans carving olive wood biblical figures, nativities and other items. George Al-Atrash, a Palestinian Christian, started his family workshop in Bethlehem in 1967. In 1976 he moved the workshop to neighboring Beit Sahour and began to involve his brothers in the business, and later two of his sons. Mr. Al-Atrash has carved olive wood to sustain his family all his life.
