Nonprofit Mitra Bali, on the island of Bali, is a cooperative of artisan groups who make wood, silver, bamboo, coconut, ceramic and other handicrafts. Mitra Bali offers free design service and trend analysis to artisans. Mitra Bali is a member of the International Fair Trade Association and adheres to the principles of fair trade. Cooperative producers support gender equity, provide healthy working conditions, use environmentally sustainable materials, and do not exploit child labor or women.
