Handmade Brass Armillary Sphere - Fair Trade From India

Beautifully crafted armillary sphere is made from recycled brass and shesham wood. Originally conceived more than 2,000 years ago, this instrument was born of the belief that the earth was the center of the universe, and the surrounding heavens were fixed within a rotating sphere. The graduated rings, representing the course of the sun and the heavens, allowed one to determine the locations of celestial objects.
