Hong, a seven year old female Asian elephant, has always had a curious nature with great trunk dexterity – a natural for artistic instruction. Hong paints with her caretaker, Noi, and has steadily developed her skills from abstracts to a realistic image of an elephant holding flowers. Noi hands her the paint brush, then with voice and touch communication, Hong starts painting. Hong is able to retrace her lines with pinpoint accuracy and enjoys her banana and sugarcane rewards.
