Bolivian artisans near Lake Titicaca and in La Paz's mountain outskirts have formed the Q'antati Association of Artisans. All are members of indigenous peoples; the majority is Aymara. Q'antati is Aymara for "Dawn Rising," symbol of the hope that this independent self-governed group inspires. Q'antati artisans create a broad range of traditional handicrafts, using indigenous crafts and natural materials. Most Q'antati artisans are women. Q'antati is committed to fair trade at all levels.
