APIKRI (Indonesian People's Handicraft Foundation) is an independent association of artisans. APIKRI helps organize artisans and provides marketing services, technical assistance, training and other supports. APIKRI is owned by its members, most of whom work in and around Yogyakarta and Central Java, areas renowned for craft production. Benefits to artisans include savings programs, design development and access to loans. APIKRI programs promote fair trade and environmental conservation.
