Annie O. Waterman found a way to merge her love for color, textiles, and design by working alongside a weaving cooperative in Peru. This is where her vision to create a socially responsible business began.
It was in the high Andes of Peru where Annie felt connected to three kind-hearted sisters who founded a weaving cooperative, supporting women who are single and/or victims of domestic violence. From this point on, she has been traveling back and forth to maintain the relationship and develop a line of handbags, belts and other accessories, inspired by Peru’s traditional embroidery techniques.
annie O. believes in increasing conscious consumerism and maintaining sustainable business practices. annie O. strives to enhance the women’s innate ability to weave, gives them financial independence, allows for a social and fun working environment, pays a fair trade wage, and creates a sustainable income and lifestyle.
